Born in 1993 in a small town of western Spain, I recently graduated in International Relations (IR) from Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid.
I truly believe in International Relations as a way of life, one that is deeply conscious of the world we live in, its suffering and its magnificence. That progress and power can only be measured in generations though defeat occur in a matter of seconds. That I am the the captain of my soul, though the world's fate is unbreakable.
Throughout my four years at university, I have been restlessly involved in several projects, first to learn by doing, then to make an impact. I first took part in creating and building ADHUE, an association to advance IR-related academic and charity projects. On second year, I co-organized a seminar on Civil-Military cooperation, visits to Congress and Army HQ, and also took part in my first Model of United Nations. It was such a good experience that we decided to start our own MUN from scratch. Furthermore, I also engaged in creating a platform to make university more student-centric by promoting political awareness and transparency. That teached us a lot about how university really works, and also experienced how to run election campaigns.
Next year results flourished, as we were able to revive the Student's Council and bigger scrutiny was put into the Presidential elections, during which I co-coordinated the platform, even if I soon had to swap it for Paris as I embarked on an Erasmus program. But before that I had time to become an international jurist, to contribute my bit to Project Yourope, born to improve young voting in the 2014 European elections; and also to organizing URJCMUN 2014. I had a wonderful time in Paris, learning french and their own style of doing business. And I also made a trip to the heart of Europe for Harvard's Worldmun.
Last year, I focused on researching new ways of understanding power in international relations for my final project, "Power in the 21st Century"; while also diving into the makings of Spanish and European diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. But I also had some time to chair DISEC committee at URJCMUN 2015 and to introduce freshmen and freshwomen to IR. As my time in university came to an end, I was sad to leave ADHUE but happy for all that we achieved. However, I have already jumped into new projects, taking part in the first Eurodefense young's conference during the summer.
Now, meanwhile I look for new opportunities to develop my professional experience, I would like to share with you some of my thoughts. If you wish.
